With more than 12 years of executive experience implementing legislative change, compliance, growth and the roll out of the NDIS in a not-for-profit organisation, I have enjoyed a career and volunteer experience in the human services sector that spans more than 36 years in both Australia and the UK. In 2022, I relocated to Crows Nest in order to be nearer to my elderly family and to enjoy a lovely tree change from the hustle and bustle of city life. My mother, who has volunteered for CNMOW for more than 25 years, greatly influenced my decision to join CNQMOW. Volunteering has always been a part of my way of giving back to my local community.

Natalie Verhoek

Secretary

I have dedicated more than two decades to raising three children full-time while also running my own business. Alongside this, I have given my time to community service, including helping establish and manage a non-profit children’s Aikido dojo as Committee Secretary and Dojo/Marketing Manager, volunteering as a Nature Play Coordinator and assisting with animal care in 2018.

There is no greater honour than being of service to others in my humble option. This commitment led me to take on the role of Secretary at Crows Nest Qld Meals on Wheels in October 2024. In addition to my duties as Secretary, I built the organisation’s website and supported its shift toward more digital record-keeping.

I am committed to continuing to help Crows Nest Qld Meals on Wheels grow and thrive through 2025 and beyond.

My heart is very much about my family (two legged and four legged) and serving my community. I’m a country girl born and raised and that’s how I’ve brought up my two beautiful young men. I have dedicated most of my life to adding to lives of others where I could. Working in the early childhood profession for over 30 years. Over the last 25 years I have been truly honoured enough to have been involved in a number of different community organisations, such as drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, P&Cs, Lions, Youth services, CNSS Breaky Club, CWA, organised many events for our little town and lent a hand where I could. I have been involved with Meals on Wheels for over 6 years now and I look forward to continuing for many more years to come.

I live by a particular quote by Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Crows Nest Qld Meals on Wheels. From preparing and packing meals to delivering them with a friendly smile, their tireless efforts make it possible for us to support the health, independence and well-being of our community. We are deeply grateful for their time, kindness, and unwavering commitment—they are the quiet heroes behind every meal delivered.

Thank you for making a difference, every single day!!!
